Teton Gravity Research “Light the Wick!” Boulder, CO 2010

I have to say the (TGR) Teton Gravity Research crew definitely Lit the Wick with this year’s film. The lines in Alaska are some of the steepest & most exposed lines I’ve seen in a long time. They hit a new remote place in AK where no else has filmed and believe me, it was worth it. The traditional segment from Jackson Hole resort was incredible as usual. In typical Jackson style, they hit steep lines, snorkel worthy powder, and of course some sick cliffs. It got me really stoked for my trip up there sometime this winter. I can’t wait to hit the resort and Teton Pass! I’ve never been disappointed with a trip up there. It’s only a 8 hour drive from Denver if the weather is good so as long as you switch off drivers it’s nothing. Not to say the insane 60+ degree lines in AK didn’t get me stoked but the stuff they were hitting in Jackson is a little bit more realistic for me. One unusual but beautiful location they hit was Croatia. Mostly know for their beautiful coast line & beaches in the summer but I have to say there is some sick tree skiing there as well. Plus all the Eastern European culture you soak in, in a place like Croatia is unmatched by any fancy resort in France, Switzerland, or Austria. I won’t give it all away but there were some GNARLY GAPS they hit, that weren’t your usual run of the mill gaps over huge tracks of snow, trains, or roads. You’ll see, it’s sweet! Steven’s Pass didn’t disappoint either. There were some great POW runs and some good work done in the Park. I haven’t skied in the North Cascades yet, but the footage they showed from up there really makes me want to explore the insane amount of varied terrain up there. Last but not least the 3-D segment. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this but I’ll leave it at I was Very Impressed! Enjoy the 3-D!

Below is YouTube film I created from my photos set to DJ OOAH of the GlitchMob, which BTW will be in Denver for Halloween, Coloradans if you are looking for a good show on Halloween checkout the Glitchmob with Beats Antique at the Fill-Morgue. Next is my Flickr album, and the official trailer. Definitely checkout “Light the Wick” this year when it hits your city or town. Out.
